How does community energy work?

What Do We Do?

1. Develop projects – We identify, develop and own solar, wind, battery storage and rooftop solar projects across Kent.

2. Generate clean energy – These projects produce renewable electricity.

3. Earn income – We sell the electricity generated and receive income from our energy projects.

4. Fund community benefit – After project costs and investor returns are paid, profits are reinvested as grants to support communities and sustainability projects across Kent.

Community energy puts power in the hands of the community

Community Energy puts people at the heart of the energy system

It brings them together to take democratic climate action by understanding, generating, owning, using and saving energy.

It accelerates the transition to a zero-carbon energy system while increasing community resilience.

And it includes communities that may otherwise be excluded from the energy system.
